A total of two hundred and twenty seven persons including teachers and students have been abducted by bandits at the Saint Mary Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Council of Niger state.
Chairman, Niger state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Most. Reverend Bulus Dauwa Yohanna confirmed this in a statement issued to Newsmen in Minna by his Media Aide, Daniel Atori.
He said “i have just got back to the village this night after I visited the school where I also met with parents of the children to assure them that we are working with the government and Security agencies to see that our children are rescued and brought back safely.”
From their record, 215 pupils and students including 12 teachers were abducted by the bandits, while it is worthy to note that, during the terrorists attack, some students escaped and parents have started coming to pick up their children as the school has been shutdown.
The statement called on parents, Niger lites and Nigerians to remain calm and prayerful while assuring them that they are actively collaborating with security Operatives, community leaders and government authorities for the safe and quick return of all abductees.
It however prayed to Allah to grant quick release of the abductees as well as continue to protect us from all forms of danger.
