The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Waidi Shaibu has paid a maiden operational visit to the One division area of responsibility in Kaduna.
Shortly after inspecting the quarter guard on his arrival, the Army Chief went straight into a closed door session where he received operational briefs.
Addressing newsmen, Lt General Waidi Shaibu explained that he was in the division to appreciate troops for their commitment and sacrifices in tackling security threats.
He also charged them to continue to do their job professionally and remain committed towards achieving mission objectives.
Lt General Shaibu disclosed that the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the Army in particular are doing their best towards addressing security challenges across the country.
Before his departure, the Army Chief commissioned a cafeteria at the division, in furtherance of the soldier first policy of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
