The Kano State House of Assembly Committee on Housing has conducted an extensive oversight visit to major housing and commercial infrastructure projects being executed by the Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC), reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability and quality service delivery.

Led by the Committee Chairman and member representing Kumbotso Constituency, Alhaji Mudassir Ibrahim Zawaciki, the lawmakers inspected several ongoing and completed project sites across the state.

They were accompanied by the Managing Director of the KSHC, Alhaji Abdullahi Rabiu, the Deputy Managing Director, Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa, and other senior officials of the Corporation.

Zawaciki said the visit was aimed at assessing progress, identifying challenges and strengthening collaboration between the Legislature and the Housing Corporation to improve project delivery. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work observed, describing the projects as evidence of the State Government’s efforts to reduce housing deficits and expand access to dignified and affordable accommodation.

The Committee pledged continued legislative support through policy formulation, oversight and timely interventions to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects.

In his remarks, the KSHC Managing Director, Alhaji Abdullahi Rabiu, provided updates on the status of each project, highlighting achievements and challenges relating to funding, contractor compliance and delivery timelines.

He said the oversight visit was essential to ensuring judicious use of public resources and achieving the objectives of the State Government’s housing initiatives.
