President Bola Tinubu has called on the international community to strengthen communication and collaboration in tackling global and national challenges.

He made the call during the presentation of research papers by participants of Course 33 of the National Defence College (NDC) at the State House, Abuja.

The President emphasized the importance of industrialization and a robust defense industry as key drivers of national security and economic growth.

He also underscored the need to develop future strategic leaders capable of shaping Nigeria’s political economy and safeguarding its sovereignty.

Tinubu described Nigeria’s development as a shared responsibility, urging citizens to embrace intellectual curiosity, hard work, and innovation in addressing the nation’s challenges.

He added that ensuring the country’s productivity and prosperity is a patriotic duty for all.

The President commended the college for its research contributions and the quality of recommendations from the participants, noting that their dedication and knowledge-sharing efforts would continue to support national progress.

Earlier, the Commandant of the National Defence College, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Ahmed, appealed for presidential intervention to complete the institution’s permanent site in Abuja.

He said the college, established in 1992, remains Nigeria’s highest professional military education centre, offering strategic leadership training to senior officers from the armed forces, police, civil service, and international partners.

Rear Admiral Ahmed disclosed that over 3,000 participants, including officers from countries such as India, Nepal, Brazil, and several African nations, have graduated from the college.

He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s national security through research and innovation, particularly in promoting indigenous manufacturing for sustainable development by 2040.
