The death has occurred of Hajiya Sutura, Shehu Usman Shagari, the last surviving wife of former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ,aged 89
In a statement signed by the head of the family ,Capt. Muhammad Bala Shagari says the deceased passed away today, the 10th of November 2025.
The statement described Hajiya Sutura as an embodiment of grace, humility and a devoted mother and grandmother who lived a life that was defined by dignity and compassion .
Her loss was deeply felt by the Family and the entire people of Sokoto State..
