According to Saminu, upon receiving the distress call, the Fire Service rescue team from the agency’s headquarters was immediately dispatched to the scene.

On arrival, they discovered that the deceased had been missing for four days before being found inside the toilet pit.

Relatives of the victim informed the rescue team that Habiba Ado had been suffering from mental illness, which may have contributed to the accident.

“Our rescue team successfully retrieved the woman from the pit, but she was later confirmed dead,”

The public relations officer hinted that the remains of the deceased were handed over to the Ward Head of Sarai Village, Musa Muhammad, for burial arrangements.

The Fire Service appealed to residents to cover open pits, wells, and toilets pwithin their surroundings to prevent future tragedies, particularly involving children, the elderly, and persons with mental health challenges.
