Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved the construction of power substations in Kano, Jigawa, and Benue States.

Briefing newsmen at the meeting, Minister of Power, Alhaji Saleh Mamman, said the substations were located at Bichi, Kanya, and Zaki-Biam.

He explained that the approval was also given for the extension of transmission lines to Abia and Imo States.

The council had also approved augmentation of the cost of construction of an 18.7 kilometre road in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State from 8.5 billion Naira to 9 billion Naira.

Similarly, the Ministry of Education had also secured approval granting leave for the University of Ibadan to acquire a new microscope to enhance research and education.
