The Presidency has expressed satisfaction with the Senate’s confirmation of the newly appointed Service Chiefs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado, stated this in a personally signed statement shortly after the confirmation on Wednesday.

He said he was delighted with the smooth screening and approval process, describing it as a demonstration of strong coordination between the Executive and Legislature.

Senator Lado noted that his role was to facilitate a seamless interface that supports the President’s commitment to effective governance and enhanced national security.

He described the appointment of Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral Idi Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff as a strategic move to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.

He also commended the Senate President, Senate leadership and lawmakers for their thorough and timely consideration of the nominations, saying their cooperation reflects a shared resolve to safeguard national stability and protect citizens.
