The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to enhancing healthcare service delivery across the country, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

This assurance was given by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, during an inspection visit to ongoing health infrastructure projects facilitated by him at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano.

Speaking to journalists during the visit, Senator Jibrin said the projects are designed to boost healthcare capacity and curb the growing trend of medical tourism by equipping local institutions with modern facilities.

“These initiatives are in direct alignment with President Tinubu’s vision of revitalizing the healthcare sector,”.

“Nigeria has experienced medical personnel, and with the right infrastructure in place, their morale will be boosted, and we can achieve our national healthcare goals”he said.

The lawmaker emphasized that once completed, the projects would enhance the hospital’s ability to deliver efficient and world-class medical services to the public.

In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Abdulrahman Sheshe, expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting that the projects are on track for completion and commissioning by 2026.

According to him, the infrastructure includes a Cardio-Cerebral Center, a Pediatric Center, and hostels for nursing students, among other critical facilities.

“These additions will increase our bed space and allow us to offer services that were previously unavailable,” Professor Sheshe stated. “They represent a significant step toward achieving better healthcare outcomes and reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to revitalizing the health sector.”

The CMD added that the new centers would not only improve service delivery but also strengthen the hospital’s capacity to serve as a leading medical institution in the region.
