Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Mbah announced the move at a news conference on Tuesday in Enugu, the state capital.

The Governor said his administration had achieved great milestone in economic development of the state.

He thanked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the platform given to him to lead the people, but said his choice to join the APC was a bold step aimed at more dividends of democracy for the people of Enugu State.

“Leadership demands difficult, even painful decisions, in the service of higher principles and goals. And there comes always a time where everyone must make a bold choice to determine their destiny,” Governor Mbah stated.

“Today, after a long reflection, we have made a decision to join the All Progressives Congress.” he noted.

Members of the APC NWC are in the Coal City State to witness the defection of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah officially from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC)

Mr Mbah was elected as Governor on the ticket of the PDP in 2023. He is currently in his first term.

Among the PDP Governors who had earlier defected to APC are Governors Sheriff  Oborevwori of Delta State and Umoh Eno of Akwa Ibom State.
