The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has assured Radio Nigeria Kaduna of his full support towards its revitalization, describing the station as a strategic institution for promoting unity, peace, and development in Nigeria.

Speaking while receiving the newly appointed Zonal Director of Kaduna Zonal Station, Alhaji Haruna Idris and his management team at his palace in Zaria, the Emir expressed deep concern over the state of decline at the station.

He noted that years of “abandonment and neglect” had left the corporation with obsolete equipment, poor infrastructure, and low staff morale, affecting its ability to deliver effective service.

He identified lack of funding as the root challenge, stressing that government allocation alone could not address the magnitude of the problem.

The Emir of Zazzau urged the management to finalize its ongoing needs assessment and develop a solid proposal that could attract donor support and Corporate Social Responsibility partnerships.

Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali also advised re-engaging previously contacted stakeholders with a clear plan.

On staff welfare, the Emir emphasized that urgent attention was required to prevent brain drain, as trained professionals were being lost to other stations offering better remuneration. He assured the new Zonal Director of his backing, declaring, “your success is ours,” and pledged to help mobilize resources once a viable roadmap is presented.

The Emir concluded with prayers for the Zonal Director’s success, wisdom, and good health in leading the institution.

Earlier, the Zonal Director, Alhaji Haruna Idris expressed gratitude to the Emir for the audience and described the visit as historic, coinciding with the Emir’s 5th anniversary on the throne.

He recalled their shared history as classmates at Government College Kaduna and commended the Emir’s leadership qualities, both during their school days and throughout his distinguished public service and diplomatic career.

The Zonal Director briefed the Emir on the dire condition of Radio Nigeria Kaduna, citing obsolete equipment dating back to the 1970s, decayed infrastructure, and poor maintenance.

He disclosed that one of his first official actions was to order a comprehensive needs assessment, which he promised to present to the Emir upon completion.

Alhaji Idris reaffirmed the station’s mandate of fostering peace, development, and communication between the people and the government through its platforms—Radio Nigeria Kaduna, Karama FM, and Supreme FM.
