The death has occured of a Veteran Journalist and Niger state Correspondent of Daily Times Newspaper, Saka Babatunde Bolaji.
He died today following a brief illness.
This is contained in a statement which was jointly signed and issued to Newsmen in Minna, by the state Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of NUJ Comrade Yakubu Mustapha Bina and Secretary Daniel Atori.
According to the statement late Saka Bolaji died at his residence on Kongila road behind Jumai Babangida Aliyu Neo-natal hospital, Minna and has been accompanied to his hometown in Ilorin, Kwara state where he was buried according to Islamic rites.
The late Saka Bolaji, began his journalism practice with Kwara state owned media outfit Herald Newspaper, worked for Standard Newspapers, The Monitor newspaper and Daily Times newspaper.
Meanwhile Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has sympathize with the Chairman Niger state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ Comrade Abu Nmodu and members of the Correspondents’ Chapel over the death of its members Saka Bolaji that died today in Minna, Niger state.
The Governor through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim who described the deceased as humble and hardworking, also prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
