The Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective resource utilization as it commenced Post-Funding Verification (PFV) of interventions financed through the Agency.

The Executive Secretary of KHETFUND, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen, stated this during a visit to Government House Hospital, Kano.

She explained that the exercise was aimed at ensuring that funds disbursed to health agencies, institutions, and facilities were judiciously managed to deliver maximum impact on the well-being of residents.

Reports indicate that, between June 2024 and May 2025, KHETFUND supported Government House Hospital with three major interventions: procurement of theater equipment worth ₦15.7 million, laboratory equipment costing ₦11.4 million, and installation of an electronic medical record system valued at ₦7.7 million.

Dr. Zahraddeen noted that since the inception of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration, KHETFUND has continued to support innovative and sustainable health projects designed to improve service delivery.

“Effective stewardship of public health funds is paramount to building a resilient health system,” she said. “

The Executive Secretary urged stakeholders to uphold high standards of financial discipline and operational efficiency in order to strengthen the state’s health sector.

In a remark, the Chief Medical Director of Government House Hospital, Dr. Abubakar Musa Yakubu, commended KHETFUND for the visit, describing it as an important step in identifying areas for improvement in future interventions.

He pledged the hospital’s continued collaboration with the Fund, health facilities, community leaders, and development partners to foster a culture of transparency and evidence-based interventions.
