Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has been urged to ensure the payment of outstanding benefits along with the September pension to avert the planned naked protest by retirees scheduled for the 6th of October.

The National Coordinator of the Federal Pensioners Association, Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote, made the appeal in a statement forwarded to the Directorate in Abuja yesterday.

The statement signed by Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote and Ganiyu Gbadamosi as chairman and Secretary of the NIPOST Chapter of the Senior Citizens, warned against further delay of such payment approved by the Presidency.

According to the statement, there was need to settle the thirty-two thousand pension increment from July twenty-twenty-four and the twenty-five thousand palliatives of twenty-twenty-three expected to alleviate sufferings of the Federal retired workers who had waited patiently for their entitlements.

One of the pensioners, Alhaji Isiyaku Garba Kawo expressed delight over steps taken by the concerned officials of various associations to demand rights of the senior citizens and prayed for success of their struggle to achieve desired objectives.
