Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency SEMA, in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA and the United Nations Children Education Fund UNICEF have organized a simulation exercise on flood rescue operations in Auyo local government area.

The exercise, which brought together stakeholders from various agencies, was aimed at equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively rescue and respond to flood-affected communities.

The simulation exercise covered key areas such as search and rescue techniques, first aid, and evacuation procedures.

This initiative demonstrated the commitment of SEMA, NEMA, and UNICEF to building the capacity of local stakeholders in disaster risk reduction and management.

In his speech, the Coordinator Disaster management of red cross, Ali Yohanna commended SEMA, NEMA , UNICEF and traditional rulers for attending the exercise which will help to rescue people that need urgent attention
