Chadian President Idris Deby has been cleared to contest for a sixth term in office in the April eleven presidential election.

Mr. Deby who has been in power for three decades was cleared by the country’s supreme court along with nine other candidates who were qualified by the court.

Also cleared is the main opposition candidade Saleh Kebzabo whose inclusion has raised generated questions following his earlier withdrawal from the race on monday on ground of tensed political atmosphere.

However, the court rejected the candidacy of some other aspirants including Mr Yaya Dillo who lost five members of his family following an attack at his home in the capital, N’Djamena late last month.
