The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has described the Etsu Nupe, His Royal Highness Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, as an embodiment of peace and unity who has worked tirelessly for the development of the Nupe Kingdom, Niger State, and Nigeria as a whole.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Rabiu Ibrahim, the Minister, who is also the Kakakin Nupe, congratulated the monarch on his 73rd birthday and 22nd year on the throne, noting that the Etsu Nupe has guided Nupeland to unprecedented growth and development.
He commended the First-Class Monarch’s contributions to Nigeria’s unity, recalling his service in the Nigerian military up to the rank of Brigadier General, and his leadership role as Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.
The Minister prayed for Allah’s continued guidance for the royal father and wished him strength to keep working for the peace, unity, and progress of Nigeria.
