A high-level delegation from the Federal Government of Nigeria has arrived in Saudi Arabia to receive the remains of the late elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, ahead of his funeral in the holy city of Madinah.

Alhaji Dantata, who passed away on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, at the age of 94, was widely revered for his contributions to business, philanthropy, and national development.

According to a statement by the Special Assistant to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, the Nigerian delegation departed the country on Sunday and arrived in Madinah early Monday morning to join in the funeral arrangements.

It is led by the Minister of Defence and former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.

Other members include the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Minister of State for Housing Development, Honourable Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.

Also accompanying the delegation are prominent Islamic clerics including Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, the Imam of Dantata Mosque in Abuja.

It also adds that Officials from the Nigerian Consulate General in Jeddah, led by Ambassador Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya, have also joined the delegation and are coordinating funeral arrangements scheduled to take place later today (Monday) in Madinah.

The statement explains that Alhaji Aminu Dantata leaves behind a legacy of enterprise, integrity, and national service that spanned decades and touched countless lives across Nigeria and beyond.
