Retired workers of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and NTA Kaduna have expressed delight over reports that the Federal Government has commenced payment of wage awards to its workers.

The senior citizens, who made this known in various comments, expressed hope that the gesture would be extended to pensioners, who have patiently waited for the arrears of palliative payments promised over the years.

One of the retired workers Alhaji Suleiman Yahaya was dismayed that despite presidential directive on the issue and appeal by the house of representatives no serious action has been taken to alleviate their sufferings.

He stressed the need for union leaders to do everything possible to end the unnecessary delay caused by unscrupulous officials at the ministry of finance, office of the Accountant General of the Federation and Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD for ulterior motives.
