Arrangements have reached an advanced stage between the Niger State Government and a private investor for the establishment of a $200 billion Agro-Industrial Park and CNG Gas Plant in Gurara Local Government Area.

Discussion to this effect on the signing of a Memorandum Of Understanding MOU between them is to be concluded by the end of this month.

State Commissioner of Industry Trade Investment and Private Sector Development, Aminu Suleiman Takuma who stated this while addressing Newsmen at the end of their State Executive Council meeting in Minna said the project will be establish in Lambata.

Represented by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Hamza Sarki Bello, the Commissioner said when completed the project would project the state Government in its proper perspective, create job opportunities and improve the Internally Generated Revenue IGR of Niger state to enhance its economic viability andi reliability.

Aminu Suleiman Takuma also spoke of plans by the Niger state Government to establish three special Agro Processing Zone in Minna, Takun fara and Mokwa which he said were on various stages of work, while the Niger state trade fair comes up on the twentieth of this month with many states expected to attend the annual event.

According to him, the state Government will inject twelve billion dollar in the Niger Fertilizer Company after the renewal of its MOU to enable work commence at the end of this month.

State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Binta Mamman, explained that state Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago has approved over one billion naira for the purchase of special furniture for distribution to all the secondary schools in Niger state towards improving teaching and learning in schools.

Hajiya Binta Mamman added that the state Government had approved six months maternity leave for breastfeeding mothers throughout the state and directed for its immediate implementation.
