Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has inaugurated the 2025 Amirul Hajj Committee, with a clear mandate to take timely and appropriate measures to ensure the success of the Hajj operations by emphasizing on transparency, responsiveness, and security.

While inaugurating the committee at the Government House in Gusau, Governor Lawal outlined the membership and terms of reference for the committee.

He urged them to prioritize the welfare of pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.

Dr Lawal Stated that, the committee is tasked to providing strategic coordination for all subcommittees that may be constituted, ensuring coherence and synergy in the execution of Hajj-related responsibilities.

 

“To ensure full compliance with all local and international regulations, particularly those stipulated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,”

“the committee must guarantee effective screening, camping, and smooth transportation of intending pilgrims to Holy Land by focusing on discipline, punctuality, and safety.”

Governor Lawal assured that the Zamfara State Government would provide all necessary support to enable the committee to deliver on its mandate effectively.

“We expect timely progress reports and, at the end of the exercise, a comprehensive report detailing achievements, challenges, and policy recommendations for future pilgrimages,”

The governor urged committee members to exhibit patience, discipline, and dedication throughout the exercise.

“As you commence this sacred assignment, I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants you divine guidance, protection, and wisdom. May He crown your efforts with success, accept the worship of our pilgrims, and grant them the blessings of the Holy Qur’an.”

Governor Lawal noted the importance of the committee, saying that, its members were carefully selected based on merit and capability.

He expressed confidence in their ability to execute the 2025 Hajj operation with excellence, dignity, and sincerity.

The Emir of Maradun, Alhaji Garba Mohammed Tambari, was named Amirul Hajj and chairman of the committee, while the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu Gumi, will serve as vice chairman.

Other members include the Executive Secretary of the Zakkat and Endowment Board, Habibu Balarabe, who will serve as secretary, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Sheikh Bello Almufty, along with six others as members.

In his remarks, Alhaji Garba Mohammed Tambari expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and other committee members. He pledged to work diligently to ensure the welfare of Zamfara pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
