Primary and post-primary schools in Kano State have commenced the 2024/2025 third-term academic session with impressive attendance rates.
According to the Director of Public Enlightenment, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, monitoring teams from the Kano State Ministry of Education reported high turnout rates, with most teachers and students arriving between 7:30 am and 8:00 am.
He explained that, teachers had made early preparations for their lesson plans, ensuring a smooth start to the term.
The director hinted that the schools were found to be clean and well-maintained, creating a conducive learning environment.
“Only a few schools recorded absenteeism among teachers and students”
Balarabe maintained that, the state Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, expressed appreciation for the good turnout and urged principals and head teachers to maintain the momentum.
“He thanked parents and guardians for their cooperation and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving education standards in the state”.
The director stressed that that, Dr. Makoda also emphasized the importance of teamwork among teaching and non-teaching staff to achieve expected outcomes .
Recall that, the Kano state government tagged Sunday 7th April and Monday 8th April 2025 as the third term resumption date for boarding and day schools across the state.
The monitoring exercise is a tradition aimed at ensuring punctuality and efficiency among staff on the first day of school resumption.
