Religious leaders have been urged to intensify efforts toward ensuring peaceful coexistence among citizens, free from sentiments, to promote national progress.

The Benue State Chairman of the Jama’atul Nasril Islam Alhaji Garba Baba made the appeal in his Sallah message to mark Eidel fitr.

Alhaji Garba Baba noted that such efforts were necessary to complement federal government commitment to facilitate Socico economic development expected in a democracy.

He expressed delight over prayers offered for sustenance of peace, Unity and progress of the country despite challenges of insecurity.

The Chairman who congratulated Muslims for witnessing the Sallah celebration was however disturbed over reports of non payment of pension areas to retired workers.
