The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mallam Shehu Mohammed, has called on Nigerians to uphold the values of Ramadan beyond the fasting period while ensuring safer roads during the Sallah celebrations.
In his Sallah message marking the end of the 2025 Ramadan fast, the FRSC boss emphasized the need for continued sacrifice, discipline, and national unity, stressing that the spirit of love and good neighborliness exhibited during Ramadan should not end with the festivities.
He urged motorists to celebrate responsibly, exercise patience on the roads, and avoid reckless driving, warning that violations such as speeding, overloading, and one-way driving contribute to road accidents.
To ensure a smooth traffic flow, the FRSC has deployed officers and men across major routes, particularly at high-risk areas, to prevent congestion and reduce accident risks.
The Corps Marshal also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting the FRSC with necessary resources, pledging that the Corps would intensify efforts to enhance road safety through technological innovations and improved traffic management systems.
His message comes as millions of Nigerians embark on nationwide travel for the Eid celebrations, with authorities heightening road safety measures to prevent crashes and loss of lives.
