Over 220 widows and less privileged people in Kwara state have received foodstuffs and other Ramadan package distributed to alleviate their sufferings.

Speaking at the Flagg off of the distribution of the Ramadan package to the beneficiaries, sponsored by the Chairman of the Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria (IMAN), Sheikh Abdullahi Nurudeen-Adana in Ilorin,
the Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja,Sheikh Oba Salman-Solagberu, said giving out to the needy is rewarding.


He called on wealthy Muslims to assist the poor in the society inorder to reduce hardship in the country.

Sheikh Salman-Solagberu cautioned Nigerians against abusing government, both at the state and federal level, adding that they are not in power to share food and money, but to serve and guide the country.

He advised Nigerians to put their trust in God and look on to him for sustenance.

The Muslim Cleric urged them to contribute their own quotas towards growth and development of the country .

According to him everyone has a role to play in making the country a great place, by rendering assistance to the needy.

He enjoined Nigerians to look inward on what they can do for the less privileged, in order to help them reduce hardship.

For his part , the Donor and Chairman of Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria (IMAN), Sheikh Abdullahi Nurudeen-Adana said that the distribution of the foodstuff to the less privileged was meant to reduce their hardship.

Sheikh Nurudern-Adana said the beneficiaries of the palliative included widows, old people, and casual workers that cook food for the public during Ramadan among others.

He said that the distribution was the first of its kind , adding that he would continue with the good act, as long as he lives.

Sheikh Nurudern-Adana called on wealthy individuals to assist the needy, by providing financial and other source of income to enable them live a good life.
