Former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Alhaji Umaru Dembo, has expressed concern over alleged corruption in the oil industry.

Alhaji Umar Dembo in an interview in Kaduna stressed the need for transparency and accountability to address such problems.

He also called for proactive measures against oil bunkering encouraged by unpatriotic citizens for selfish reasons, while calling for repairs of refineries to check high cost of fuel.

Alhaji Umaru Dembo expressed hope for good governance to promote democracy and move the nation forward rather than depend on foreign countries for economic development.

The Former Minister suggested measures to revive oil depots and pipelines as part of efforts to reduce cost of fuel nationwide and facilitate transportation.
