National Population Commission (NPC) has launched a sensitization campaign across all 11 local government areas of Gombe State to promote the registration of births and deaths.

The Federal Commissioner of the NPC in charge of Gombe State, Alhaji Abubakar Danburam, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Gombe.

He emphasized that both birth and death registration were crucial for governance, security, and social development.

Alh. Abubakar Danburan warned that children without birth certificates might face difficulties accessing essential services such as education and healthcare in the future.

He also highlighted the low rate of death registration, stressing its importance, as accurate mortality data are essential for effective public health planning and resource allocation.

The Commissioner further stated that 93 registration centres have been set up across the state, including primary healthcare facilities, emir’s palaces, and village and district heads’ offices.
