The Kano State House of Assembly has passed a bill to establish an agency responsible for regulating and promoting small and medium-scale enterprises in the state.

The move is aimed at boosting entrepreneurship, creating jobs, and reducing unemployment among youths in the state.

According to the Majority Leader of the House, Lawan Hussaini Dala, the agency will provide necessary support and resources to entrepreneurs, including access to funding and equipment.

He assured that the state government will provide the necessary framework to ensure the success of the agency.

In another development, the House is set to review the law governing the issuance of certificates of occupancy in the state.
The review aims to simplify the process of obtaining certificates of occupancy, reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks, and ensuring that landowners can easily renew their documents without facing difficulties.

The Majority Leader, Lawan Hussaini Dala, presented the motion for the review of the law during the House’s plenary session.
He noted that the review has become necessary given the improvements made by the government in the sector.

Radio Nigeria reports that the law provides for the allocation and use of land, as well as the granting of titles to landowners.

It also empowers the state government to the authority to grant permission to individuals and organizations to use the land.
