Kano State Government KNSG says it will continue to improving the lives of people with special needs, particularly those affected by spinal cord injuries.
This commitment was reiterated by the Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, during a training for SCIAN held in Kano.
The event, organized by the Spinal Cord Injuries Association SCIAN in collaboration with MacArthur Foundation, aimed to provide essential materials to spinal cord injury victims and create opportunities for their empowerment.
A key aspect of this initiative is a planned collaboration with the Spinal Cord Injuries Association to provide training in ICT and other fields.
In a keynote address, Comrade Waiya emphasized the government’s commitment to providing special assistance to alleviate the hardships faced by spinal cord injury victims and their families.
He also announced plans to collaborate with the Spinal Cord Injuries Association to provide training in ICT and other fields, empowering victims with skills and knowledge to improve their quality of life.
The Commissioner commended the families of spinal cord injury victims for their dedication and resilience in caring for their loved ones.
He assured them that the Kano State Government remains committed to providing continuous support to ease their challenges.
The event also featured representatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who advised attendees on preventing drug abuse and reducing accidents that can cause spinal cord injuries.
This initiative demonstrates the Kano State Government’s commitment to promoting inclusive education and supporting people with disabilities.
By providing training and empowerment programs, the government aims to create opportunities for spinal cord injury victims to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
