Jigawa State Government has spent over ₦164 billion to support Small and Medium-scale Entrepreneurs SMEs in the state.

Governor Umar Namadi made this statement at the Dutse Local Government Secretariat while launching the disbursement of ATM cards to beneficiaries of the National Cash Transfer Program.

He explained that the funds were disbursed through the State Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency under the COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Program.

Malam Umar Namadi further stated that about 23,000 people would benefit from the ₦75,000 cash transfer initiative.

He pointed out that, this is inline with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda of supporting the less privilege in the society to improve their businesses.

Umar Namadi therefore, called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds for the betterment of their families.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the state and federal government for the support.

They also pledged to ensure judicious use of the cash assistance.
