Seven hundred students across 14 public schools in Kwara State’s Ilorin South local government have received free educational materials.
At the handover event held at Government Secondary School, Tanke, in Ilorin, Olufolake AbdulRazaq, the wife of the governor, expressed her commitment to making education accessible for every child.
Represented by the state commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Afeez Alabi, Mrs. AbdulRazaq announced that the distributed materials included school bags, exercise books, mathematical sets, and new school uniforms.
She emphasized the need for increased support for girls’ education, students with disabilities, and adaptive learning tools.
The First Lady praised the initiative of a non-governmental organization for collaborating with the state government on providing educational services for adolescent girls.
Earlier, the principal of Government Day Senior Secondary School, Tanke, Mrs. Kubura Olumo, expressed gratitude to the governor’s wife for her generosity.
Mrs. Olumo noted that the initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, adding value to the commitment to advancing quality education and promoting gender equality.
