Niger State Government has abolished the payment of Parent Teachers Association PTA levy for pupils in both primary and secondary schools across the state.

 

Consequently any Headmaster or Principal of public school in the state that is found to have been engaged in collecting such fees would be decisively dealt with to serve as a deterrent to others.

 

State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago announced this while addressing a Mammoth crowd in Sarkin Pawa, headquarters of Munya Local Government Area during a visit.

 

Governor Umar Bago maintained that henceforth Niger State Government had taken the responsibility of payment of PTA for all children in public schools in the state,and asked parents and guardians not to pay PTA fee for their children again.

 

The Governor also advised parents to enroll their wards into school especially the girl child, stressing that school uniform should not be impediment to any children from going to school, as children can go to school with their personal dresses.

 

“Allow your children to go to school, school uniform should not be your impediment,and any teacher that send your child back home,pls, report him,he will also be send packing from the school”Bago warned.

 

The governor had earlier expressed satisfaction with the ongiong road project in the area and enjoined the Contractor handle the project to ensure timely completion, while promising to construct road from Sarikin Pawa to Kaduna State, construct modern market,provide potable  drinking water and a primary health care among others.

 

In their separate remarks, Chairman, Munya Local Government Area, Aminu Najumi, Commissioner of Lands and Housing, Barrister Moses Magaji,and Mr Peter Sankara, lauded  Governor Bago for his people oriented projects in the area, describing his one year land mark achievements as encouraging and unprecedented.

 

They however told the Governor that Munya Local Government Area has been experiencing relative peace,and applauded  him for providing enough security agencies to protect life and properties of people in the area,
