Jigawa state government has introduced special project on rice farming with a view to sanitize the association’s activities.

The special Project Coordinator, Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria RIFAN, Hadejia local government area Mallam Abdulrahman Idris Konti stated this shortly after the association’s meeting in Hadejia.

Mallam Abdulrahman Idris said the decision was made to ensure practicing farmers were the direct beneficiaries of government support package.

According to him, government has disbursed millions of naira through associations but repayment  of the loans is not impressive despite efforts being made.

In a remark, the local government women leader Hajia Aisha Usman commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for supporting farming activities and pledged that women would participate actively in the program for self reliance.
