Kano State pilgrims participating in the 2024 holy pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia have gathered at the plain of Mount Arafat, Makkah, to offer special prayers for peace, security, and economic transformation in their state.
During the significant gathering, prominent Islamic scholars, including Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, Sheikh Jamilu Alqadiri, Dr. Ali Quraysh, and Dr. Sani Ashir, led the prayers.
The Head of the Media Team for Hajj 2024 and spokesperson for the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu reported that the scholars prayed for divine guidance for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, seeking wisdom and strength to address the challenges facing the state and its residents.
Ibrahim noted that cleric after cleric prayed fervently for the peace and stability of Kano State.
The prayer session was attended by top government officials, including the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Hon. Yusuf Jibril Falgore, and members of the State House of Assembly, Head of Service Alhaji Abdullahi Musa.
Others are Grand Khadi Dr. Tijjani Yusuf Yakasai, center officers from 44 LGAs, and officials from the pilgrims’ board, led by Chairman Alhaji Yusuf Lawal and Director General Alhaji Lamin Rabiu Danbappa.
The pilgrims also prayed for the success of the current administration, protection for the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, and the well-being of State and National Assembly members from Kano.
The State Amir-ul-Hajj and Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, congratulated the pilgrims on successfully conducting their prayers at Mount Arafat. He urged them to uphold the ethics and qualities expected of their new status.
The pilgrims also prayed for the success of the current administration, protection for the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, and the well-being of State and National Assembly members from Kano.
Following the completion of the Arafat rites, the pilgrims will proceed to Muzdalifah to observe Salatul Maghrib and Ishai, collect 49 pebbles, and cast the first set of seven pebbles on Sunday, the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah. They will then return to their tents in Mina.
