Kaduna State Ministry of education has described the report in circulation that, government renamed Kaduna State University KASU as Magajin Gari Sambo University as fake news.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Phoebe Sukai Yayi says the purported news is being attributed to the State Commissioner for Education of a plan to rename the University following requests made by over 77 registered Community Development Associations across the State.

It says the Ministry, Kaduna State House of Assembly, the Secretary to the State Government, the Registrar of KASU and the University management disassociated themselves from the fake news.

The Statement also informed the public that, the Commissioner has never made any disclosure of such plans to rename the University for now.

It explains that the Ministry is warning those behind the mischievous misinformation to desist from spreading such false report or be prepared to face the wrath of the law.
