Kwara state government says about nine thousand people have been earmarked to benefit in its 2024 annual free medico-surgical outreach across the sixteen local government areas of the state.

The state Commissioner for Health Dr. Amina El-Imam, stated this while speaking with Newsmen in Ilorin.

According to her , a total number of seven thousand and five hundred people benefitted in the free medico-surgical outreach last year.

She said the first stop will be Kwara state University Teaching Hospital in Ilorin West local government area on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

The commissioner said the initiative is aimed at bringing vital medical services to the doorstep of the least privileged members of the society.

Dr. El-Imam, explained that the medical treatments would include eye and hernia surgeries among others.

She urged residents of the state to avail themselves the opportunity, noting that the team of healthcare professionals will provide compassionate care and support to them.
