The Director-General of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria-DICON, Major General Aniedi Edet has urged staff to remain professional and avoid acts capable of undermining national security.

He made the call during a routine engagement with the staff held at the ordnance factory of the Corporation at Kakuri in Kaduna State.

Major General Aniedi Edet explained that since his assumption of duty in July last year, his driving principles were anchored on five pillars for effective service delivery.

These pillars according to the DG include professionalism, business orientation, staff welfare, improved communication channels and partnership with local and foreign investors.

He recalled that since his assumption, DICON had returned to full scale production, as part of effort to achieve its core mandate.

He pointed out that regular engagements were also held to breach communication gap amongst staff to enhance productivity.

Major General Aniedi Edet said effective from June this year, a quarterly bulletin would be produced as part of effort to enhance the communication process in the Corporation.

The DG, who expressed delight over the response of staff on the range of issues raised, however assured to accord adequate priority to staff welfare and development.

Major General Edet disclosed that with the signing of the DICON act by President Tinubu in November last year, about fifty local and foreign partners have so far indicated interest to invest and share their expertise with the DICON.

Highpoint of the event was cash reward and commendation to selected staff for exhibiting professionalism in the course of their duties.
