Federal government says the gap in Nigerian infrastructural needs is steady being bridged by a gradual process of repairs, renewal and construction  on major highways. 

The Minister of Works and Housing Mr Babatunde Fashola stated this at the official handing over of federal government intervention of Campus’s internal roads to federal University Dutse, in jigawa state.

Represented by the federal controller, works in the state, Mr Atewolara Gabriel explained that 800 meters road have been rehabilitated and constructed by the federal ministry of works and housing on behalf of the federal government. 

According to him, president Muhammadu Buhari’s government has stepped up the process of getting works in many sectors including education among others.

He said the infrastructural needs was being bridged by a gradual process of repairs, renewal and construction on major highways and also in schools. 

Babatunde fashola further explained that there were currently 43 Road intervention within tertiary institutions across the country.

The Minister pointed out that 29 of such road intervention projects have been completed with 17 already handed over last year. 

Fashola said during the construction, 200 people were employed, contributing to the job creation initiative of the federal government.

Earlier in her remark, the Vice Chancellor of the University, professor fatima Batul Mukhtar said this was not the first intervention work done by the ministry in the university.

According to her, the ministry has constructed one kilometer road and drainage through special duties intervention.

Professor Fatima Batul commended federal government for the gesture and requested for more roads,drains and central sewage in the university.
