Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum has lauded the appointment of the new service chiefs and commended the outgoing service chiefs for their contributions and sacrifice in the counter-insurgency operations.

The Governor stated this while briefing newsmen in Maiduguri.

Governor Zulum explained that the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Iraboh, Chief of Army Staff, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru and the Chief of Air Staff Staff Air Vice Marshall Isiyaka Amao have all worked in the theatre and are familiar with the environment and other terrain.

“For those that are recently appointed we are also wishing them the best of luck especially General Iraboh and Attahiru, both have worked in the theatre. They have the experiences, God willing we can get maximum benefits from them”.

The Governor used the medium to pay tribute to the outgoing service chiefs particularly Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai who is an indigene of the state and Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar. 

He promised that the Borno state government will accord maximum support to the new service chiefs like was given to their predecessors, assuring to mobilise communities for intelligence gathering, logistics for volunteers supporting the military in the operations.
