Jigawa State Government says it has come up with palliative measures to cushion the citizen’s adversity due to the fuel subsidy removal.

The State Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the state executive meeting held at Government House Dutse.

He said the state executive council had approved the purchase of five trucks of rice, an empowerment program for 1,500 young entrepreneurs, and support of 1,000 Small and Medium Enterprises.

According to him, the executive council has approved the purchase of additional five trucks of rice at the cost of over one hundred and thirty four million naira to complement the five trucks of rice sent to the state by the Federal Government.

Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed further explained that, the council has also considered and approved another empowerment program for 1,500 young entrepreneurs running existing businesses across 27 Local government areas in their respective communities.

He said, the state executive council has approved the support of 1,000 Small and Medium Enterprises under the J-Cares Programme with one hundred thousand naira.

The Commissioner pointed out that, the state government has set up a committee for the distribution of palliatives.
He assured that the state government is committed to reducing the citizens hardships across the state.
