Nigerian Airforce Officers Wives Association-NAFOWA has solicited continued support and collaboration of the Nigerian Airforce-NAF in the areas of education, women, youth empowerment, healthcare and poverty alleviation.

National President of the Association, Mrs Rakiya Abubakar made the call when she led other executive council members on a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff at NAF headquarters, Abuja.

According to a statement by Director of Public Relations and Information of the force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet says the NAFOWA delegation were at the force headquarters to consolidate on the existing cordial relationship between the NAF and NAFOWA.

The NAFOWA President also solicited the support of NAF in the provision of needed infrastructure at the newly established NAFOWA secondary school and NAFOWA little Angels, Asokoro, Abuja.

Mrs Abubakar stressed that NAFOWA’s overall objective remains the promotion of welfare and well-being of members, children and the downtrodden through education and various skills acquisition programmes.

Responding, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar described members of NAFOWA as pillars of strength and source of motivation to their husbands and families.

According to him, the skills acquisition and empowerment programmes had benefitted over three hundred dependents in the last twelve months.

Air Marshal Abubakar charged them to remain a beacon of hope to those in despair and others who might be going through other challenges.
