The Bauchi State Auditor-General, Alhaji Abdu Aliyu has been shot by unknown persons.
State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Wakili who confirmed the incident, said it occurred along Kardam village of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.
DSP Wakili said the gunmen opened fire on the vehicle and shot the Auditor-General.
Alhaji Abdu Aliyu was rushed to the General Hospital in Tafawa Balewa by passers-by and was later transferred to the trauma center in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.
