Major General Olufemi Oluyede has assumed duty as the 56th Infantry Corps Commander of the Nigerian Army, with a pledge to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Chief of Army Staff.

In a statement by acting deputy director, Army Public Relations, headquarters Infantry Corps Centre Jaji, Captain Olusegun Abidoye says the new Commander also vowed to take the corps to greater heights by making the welfare of officers and soldiers a priority.

Major General Olufemi Oluyede commended his predecessor for his accomplishments in the centre, as well as finding time to grace the event despite his tight schedules.

In his valedictory speech, the immediate past Commander of the centre, Major General Christopher Musa thanked staff, officers and soldiers for the support and co-operation he enjoyed during his brief tour of duty as Commander, and solicited same for his successor.

He also assured of his continuous support and enhancement of its interest.

The immediate past Commander of the Corps, Major General Christopher Musa was recently appointed Chief of Defence Staff, alongside other service chiefs by President Bola Tinubu.

Highpoints of the event were signing of handing and taking over notes, decoration of the new commander with the corps lanyard and signia, among others.

The event attracted senior officers, commanders and commandants of various Army formations.
