Sokoto State Government has embarked on student’s screening exercise aimed at settling the unpaid three years tuition fees to Usman Danfodiyo University for indigene students .

The Chairman, Screening committee Alhaji Nasiru Dantsoho stated this to newsmen during the exercise in Sokoto.

He said the move followed an action taken by the University to stop Sokoto state students from writing examination after three years without paying for their tuition fees by the Sokoto State Scholarship Board.

The Chairman explained that the State Government led by Governor Ahmad Aliyu had inherited about three years unpaid Scholarship which prompted the institute to reject students of Sokoto indigenes .

He maintained that, although the total number of the benefiting students was not verified the committee would ensure all indigenes of the state benefited.

Some students interviewed by Radio Nigeria expresses their appreciation on the effort made by the Government of State to pay the tuition fees.
