President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated the importance of good neighbourliness, noting that the survival would benefit all

He stated this at the State House, Abuja, while playing host to President Patrice Talon of Republic of Benin, who was on an official visit.

President Buhari noted that Good neighbourliness was very important in human lives.

He said Nigeria would continue to work with her neighbours in the light of understanding.

The president recalled that on assumption of office in 2015, one of the very first steps he took was to visit neighbouring countries – Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Benin towards forging a common understanding on crucial issues, including security, trade and development.

Also Speaking, President of Republic of Benin, Patrice Talon said he was in Nigeria to show gratitude to President Buhari for the robust leadership displayed in Nigeria and Africa.

He noted that challenges of 2020 were huge, but expressed optimism that the relationship between the two countries would remain cordial.
