President Bola Tinubu has joined Muslims in Nigeria and all over the world in observance of Eid-el-Kabir.
He said all Muslims must thank Almighty Allah for the grace to witness another Eid.
As Muslims immerse themselves in the joy of this moment and celebration, President Tinubu called on Faithfuls to remember those who may not be as fortunate as us.
According to the President Eid-el-Kabir is a festival of sacrifice and total obedience to Allah as exemplified by the exceptional action of Prophet Ibrahim.
He explained that There is no greater sense of duty ever recorded in history outside the ennobling example of Prophet Ibrahim in offering his only son Ismail as a sacrifice to Allah.
He called on Muslims to endeavor to multiply good deeds with kindness to fellow Muslims and others by helping and supporting the weak and vulnerable in the communities.
At the moment, Tinubu stated that Nigeria is going through some challenges, especially with a struggling economy and simmering security challenges.
The President noted that the challenges are not insurmountable. Assured that he is working day and night with his team, fleshing out solutions.
He wished all Muslims a Happy Sallah celebration.
Also, Former President Muhammadu Buhari, through his media aide Garba Shehu, extended well wishes to Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of Eid-al-Kabir.
He expressed hopes for a successful Hajj pilgrimage and a safe return home for those participating.
Recognising the challenges of leading a diverse country like Nigeria, he called for full support of the Tinubu Administration, emphasising that effective leadership requires the sacrifices and backing of citizens.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, also conveyed his felicitations to Nigerians and encouraged reflection on the core values and lessons of the occasion, including sacrifice, love, charity, and piety, to foster peaceful coexistence.
Sen. Akume urged Nigerians to pray for the success of President Tinubu’s administration and its commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Furthermore, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in a statement signed by the President Archbishop Daniel Okoh, rejoiced with the Muslims as they “commemorate the values of sacrifice, love, and obedience as symbolised by the festival.”
CAN called all Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and love for one another, fostering a spirit of harmony and understanding.
