The Wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, has declared support for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on its ongoing war against abuse and trafficking of illicit drugs in the state.

Hajia Zainab Nasir Idris, made the declaration when she received a delegation led by the state Commander of the NDLEA at government house Birnin Kebbi.

She said, as the Mother of the state, she cannot stand and watch children especially youth consume by the menace of drug abuse.

Hajiya Nasir Idris, therefore sought formidable partnership that would secure the state against the menace of drug abuse.

Earlier, Kebbi State Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, Sule Usman, urged parents and guardians to imbibe the culture of early drugs addiction detection of their wards by consulting the agency when they notice strange attitude from their children.

The Commander, informed the wife of the Governor that, NDLEA had a National Drug Control Master Plan in which Kebbi State is key in to the plan by setting up a drug control committee which comprised members from the ministry of Women Affairs, Health among others to be headed by the wife of the governor who will serve as the chairperson of the committee.

While urging the Governor’s wife to work with her husband to make the drug problem a major priority on their agenda, announced her appointment as the new Ambassador on the fight against Drug Abuse.
