Kaduna state government says it is committed to the strengthening of public trust in the judiciary and improvement of access to justice.

The state Governor, Malam Uba Sani stated this at a meeting with members of the Kaduna State Judiciary headed by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Tukur Mu’azu Aliyu held at the High Court premises in Kaduna.

Governor Uba Sani who commended members of Kaduna Bench for their selfless services to the, urged them to partner with government to tackle the challenges of insecurity in the state.

He pointed out that, to achieve success in tackling criminality, the Judiciary must play a critical role while people must be made to account for their actions.

“The full weight of the law must be brought to bear on those who have been putting our communities under siege and destroying the economies of rural areas”.

The governor noted that he was aware of the challenges facing the judiciary, and pledged government’s commitment to the full implementation of the autonomy of the judiciary,

“A well-functioning judiciary will quicken justice for our people and depend on our democracy”he said

Malam Uba Sani further called on judiciary to work in harmony with the state government to enable it deliver on its promises to the people.

He gave an assurance that his administration will encourage constant communication and dialogue with the Judiciary.

On his part, the chief Judge of Kaduna state, Justice Mu’azu Aliyu,
appreciated the governor for the visit and wished him well.
