Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum has appointed twelve Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, General Managers and Executive Secretaries. 

The Governor had last month dissolved all political appointees, Heads of Agencies, Commissions, Boards and Parastatals. 

In a statement by the Principal Secretary, Government House, Mustapha Busuguma says the Governor has reappointment Malam Isa Gusau as Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Babashiekh Haruna Senior Special Assistant on Media while Abdurrahman Bundi as Senior Special Assistant on New Media. 

The statement adds that Umar Mohammed is now the General Manager, Borno Radio Television BRTV while Dr. Mairo Mandara has been reappointment Chief Adviser and Coordinator, Sustainable Development, Partnerships and Humanitarian Support. 

Other appointees included Ahmed Sanda, Special Adviser on Protocol, Ambassador Adamu Abbas, Chief Policy Analyst and Researcher and Dr. Babakura Mamman Gadai, Executive Secretary, Borno State Agency for Sustainable Development, Partnerships and Humanitarian Response.

The Principal Secretary explained that the appointments were based on personal merits and records of previous years in public service noting that a date will be communicated for swearing-in of Special Advisers.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Borno State Council has congratulated the newly appointed media aids to Governor Zulum and General Manager Borno Radio Television BRTV. 

In a statement, Chairman of the Council Comrade Dauda Iliya says Malam Isa Gusau, Baba Shiekh Haruna and Umar Mohammed are pillars of the Union who are still contributing to development journalism profession in the state.

The Union assured the appointees of continued support and cooperation throughout their tenure.
