The Network for Peace Journalism In Kaduna State has appealed to members of the public to only access election results from credible media organizations and not on social media.

In a statement by the team leader of the group Ibrahima Yakubu warned against the spread of fake election results on social media particularly at this time INEC officials are busy collating the results.

Ibrahima Yakubu stressed the need for the general public to understand the dangers associated with the spread of fake news particularly during election period.

He commended Nigerians for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner during the presidential and National Assembly elections.

“The Network for peace journalism on the Community Initiatives to Promote Peace programme with coordination from Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC), Kaduna have commended Nigerians for the peaceful conduct of gubernatorial and states house of assembly elections”

The team leader of the group also thanked all media organizations across the country for their contributions in promoting peace and unity among Nigerians.

He commended Nigerian union of journalists for opening -up situation room during and after the elections.

Ibrahima expressed satisfactory over the just concluded states government and house of assembly, saying its the best in the history of Nigeria.

The Network for peace journalism however called on candidates to embrace the elections results in good faith for peace and stability of the country

He however commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for timely distribution of Election Materials to various polling units across the States.

Malam Ibrahim yakubu also applauded the states and federal government for the deployment of massive security across the country towards maintaning peace and order with the aim of having a Successful conduct of the election .

Ibrahima Yakubu also applauded traditional title holders, religious leader, para-military, youth ,women groups, hunters association of Nigeria , local and foreign observers as well as the Electorates for the peaceful conduct of the election.
